Imo police launch investigation into viral video of its officers allegedly involved in cult activities

The police in Imo state says it has begun an investigation into the viral video of some of its officers allegedly involved in cult activities.

An X user @Naijaconfraternity had shared the video calling out the officers.

Reacting to the video, the command in a statement released by its spokesperson, CSP Henry Okoye, says the state Commissioner of Police has ordered an investigation with a view to ensure the officers face the full wrath of the law if found guilty.,

The statement reads

‘’The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has ordered a thorough investigation into the viral video showing a group of police officers in an unacceptable display of unprofessionalism. The CP strongly condemns the conduct as unethical and unbecoming of police officers.

He assures the public that the matter is being handled with utmost seriousness and that upon conclusion of investigations, the officers involved will face serious disciplinary measures in accordance with police regulations.

The Imo State Police Command remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ensuring good policing in line with the constitutional mandate of the Nigeria Police Force.”
