The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has fined Apple and Goldman Sachs $89 million over the mishandling of their Apple Card partnership.

The companies failed to resolve customer disputes and, in some cases, reported incorrect credit information. As a result, Goldman Sachs is temporarily prohibited from issuing new credit cards.

The CFPB cited premature rollout issues and misleading interest-free payment plans for Apple products as part of the violations. Apple disagrees with the findings but has complied with the order.
