The Abia State Ministry of Trade and Commerce has announced the commencement of the reallocation exercise for newly-built shops at the Ekeoha Shopping Complex in Aba.
The exercise is being carried out in partnership with Rhino Homes and Properties Limited.
In a public announcement released on Tuesday, the ministry stated that participation in the exercise is strictly limited to individuals who have fully paid for shops in the Phase One development.
“The Abia State Government, through the Ministry of Trade and Commerce, announces the commencement of the Reallocation Exercise of newly-built shops at Ekeoha Shopping Complex, Aba in partnership with Rhino Homes and Properties Limited,” the statement read.
According to the ministry, eligible participants include existing shop owners affected by the redevelopment whose original allocation certificates are listed in the Market Register, as well as new applicants who obtained preliminary clearance from Rhino Homes or the ministry.
“Participation in the Reallocation Exercise is exclusive to persons who have paid for new shops in the Phase One development,” the statement added.
The government explained that applicants seeking full clearance and reallocation must provide documented evidence of previous ownership or preliminary clearance, alongside proof of full payment for shop allocation.
It further disclosed that the reallocation exercise would run from May 7 to May 14, 2026.
“The Reallocation Exercise is open to all qualified participants from Thursday, May 7th, 2026 to Thursday, May 14th, 2026,” the ministry stated.
The government said interested participants could complete the process either online or physically.
For online participation, applicants were directed to abiamrv.com.ng to complete forms and upload required documents using an active email address.
“Online – browse to abiamrv.com.ng and complete the forms, uploading the required documents,” the statement noted.
Applicants opting for physical verification were instructed to visit the GADA Building, No. 3 River Avenue, Aba, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on working days, with original and duplicate copies of their documents as well as a valid national identity card.
“Physical – on working days only, present original and duplicate documents in person at the GADA Building, No. 3 River Avenue, Aba from 9am – 4pm daily,” the statement added.The ministry further assured participants that all validated allocations ould be entered into the official Market Register, after which Certificates of Allocation would be issued
“Following this exercise, all validated shop allocations will be entered into the Market Register and official Certificates of Allocation issued by the Ministry of Trade & Commerce,” it said.
The Ekeoha Shopping Complex redevelopment project forms part of ongoing efforts by the Abia State Government to modernise commercial infrastructure in Aba and improve trading conditions for business owners in the state.
